  About the NursingHomeDatabase Skilled Nursing Owners Database

Our database of information about owners, managers, and directors of skilled nursing homes is based primarily on data provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid ("CMS"). CMS updates this information eleven times a year, typically at the end of each calendar month except for December. We pull the data as soon as it is available, run through a series of data checks and calculations and make the new data available right away.

The ownership data is typically just over 155,000 records covering over 45,000 individuals and companies that either own or are managing skilled nursing homes. The data is based upon records submitted to CMS by the individual nursing homes. There is often a lag time between the reporting of a change and its appearance in our database.
