The nursing home industry is one that is full of controversy. Everyone worries about leaving a frail friend or relative in the hands of strangers and everyone has heard horror stories of abuse and or neglect in nursing homes. While the vast majority of nursing homes are safe and provide quality care, not all are. These are the bad apples that give the whole industry a bad reputation. The table below shows nursing homes that have performed poorly over a long period of time. These may not the the worst performing in the current month but they have consistently been at the bottom of the list month over month. To assess this performance we are showing overall 5-star quality rating from The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid ("CMS") and the most recent health inspection scores. We think you need to carefully consider using any of the nursing homes listed on the "Hall of Shame".
